What kid doesn't love an olive?

Good bye old fence

Image
These aren't the greatest of pictures since they were taken from my phone, but we can get the idea of what happened. Well this was a project and a half. Since we have moved into our house our fence has been falling down. Back in February we had a big wind storm that lifted the back fence all the way off, so we decided that we needed to replace the fence. This is what it had looked like since we moved in. It was always really annoying to work in the garden with the neighbors dog sticking his head through barking at us. The rock we got from Brent's grandma's house that was just demolished. We plan on filling in with good topsoil for our garden this year. In the back corner we will be fencing that all off to make a "fairy garden." Mainly it will be fenced off because there will be a pond and we don't want kids in it. Bowyn was way excited about the hammer and nails. Go for it buddy! What a mess! This made us feel like we had a really big ya...

The New Fence

Image
So here are the after pictures of our new fence. It is so much quieter in our yard now. It is so much more private! I love this new fence. These pictures are a little old, as we have finished raising the garden up and filled in all the holes. I will post some newer pictures after we finish planting everything. These pictures are also minus the cute little picket fence we put in on the side of the house for the pond and the Fairy flower garden.  I love the gate. We can now lock our kids in the back yard and they actually stay. This has been wonderful since the weather has gotten warmer. We can go out and work in the yard and know exactly where our kids are. How did I survive the last two summers without a gated yard??

Cyana's birthday

Image
So of course, just a week after Lyvi's birthday was Cyana's birthday. We felt a little guilty for last year. Because we had just had a baby, Cyana didn't really get a party, so we went all out this year and I felt like we made up for it plus!! Going on a bear hunt is hilarious with kindergarteners. Oh best friends still, six years later! Star Wars nut still. Yes she can still tell the entire story. Poor kid on Cyana's right is our bishop's son and I just found out today that Cyana snuck him a good-bye kiss on the cheek at the end of her party. Yep, mom is super embarrassed and wondered why the bishop had been acting a little offish at meetings, now we know why.

Easter and Lyvi's first birthday

Image
I never said I was a good blogger and this just is a slam of a whole bunch of pictures for those of you trying to keep up with us, we can't even keep up! This is Easter this year which also happened to be Lyvi's first birthday. She was hilarious. She didn't know what to do with the cake and ice cream and opening presents, what a joke. Her siblings helped out a ton! Grandma and Grandpa came over as well as aunts, uncles, and a few cousins even showed up to celebrate with us in our newly refenced backyard! Sugar! Lots of sugar makes this kid happy! Being sneaky and wrapping the presents We actually had to buy eggs, we decided our brown chicken eggs wouldn't dye to well. clothes! More clothes! Cyana was upset she didn't get to open this present. Ice cream is cold! Strutting her new princess p.j.'s

Funny phrases

The best part of Fast Sunday happened this past week. We all got up and going and as each of my kids came into the kitchen for breakfast, they all asked what we were eating and why daddy and mommy weren't eating. When they all settled, I was asked again why I wasn't eating. I said, "I am fasting." Then Ayslind said, "I am fasting too." Then Brent, "I'm fasting." Then Bowyn quickly replied after being the quietest one through out the conversation, "I'm slowing" as he ate his cereal. Of course we all burst out laughing because he had no idea what we were talking about, but so that he could be the opposite of everyone else, he would be "slowing" not "fasting."
