HEEELLLOO ANYBODY OUT THERE????

So I was really bummed. To read a few of our old neighbors blogs to see that they are asking for similar help on their running goals. Some of them had up to 15 comments!! So yet again let me ask for any help on achieving my goal of running a 5k under 30 minutes in August. ANY running workout tips, loosing weight tips, favorite fitness sites, on and on and on. Advice please!!

Boys vs. Girls

So today we were playing in the backyard. The kids were playing with the chalk on the back patio. Bowyn was walking around with a popsicle stick in one hand and a piece of chalk in the other. Being the "toddler" that he is, he tripped and fell keeping his hands up so his head rebounded off the cement. I took a quick intake of breath, prepared for the scream, but he stood up shook his head, when he saw my expression he gave a short pitiful, "ahh..." then turned and walked away! The kid had the imprint of the cement on his head and didn't even scream. If one of my girls did that the whole neighborhood would have heard it and Daddy would have heard about it when he got home and we all would have heard the repeat of the story before bed and every night for a week. Needless to say, I like this difference between boys and girls.

Music and running for life

Ever feel like there are songs that could explain your life at a particular moment? "Life is a highway." Rascal Flatt's version. Short explanation, "Life is a highway" is the theme song I listen to every time I run. I either start with it or end with it. Try it! It really helps me get to the finish. For those who don't know, I have made a goal to run a 5k under 30 minutes by August. So far I am doing well at that goal. I never thought that I would run ever again. Who wants to run after running ladders and bases for 8 years!!!! I actually have found it very fulfilling and the best part is that I am only racing against myself, which makes it even better. All you runners out there any suggestions on how to get my last mile in and improve my time would be beneficial!
