'Till we meet again

Image
Brent's dad passed away this morning after a speed ridden down climb from cancer. He was admitted to the AF hospital on Monday because he was having problems breathing. Wednesday evening the family was gathered to make a decision as to putting him on a tube to breathe rather than the mask. After a difficult decision we inserted the tube. Friday night we were informed of another family meeting. He was not improving and we had to decide what to do. Saturday after everyone had the opportunity to give him our love and farewell, Blaine G. Shelley passed away as peaceful as he could with all of his children and his wife gathered around him. We know that his passing was for the best and that he was greeted joyfully by his parents, brother, and grandson who passed away as an infant. Wednesday night Blaine's bishop came and gave a wonderful blessing of peace and comfort. Only some of us were there to hear. He was assured that he was a faithful son of God, that Heavenly Father ...

Tagg I'm it

The rules to this game: 6 random things about you (I am including my family since it is a family blog). Name 6 people at the bottom to "tag" next. 1. Brent and I met when I was a senior in high school and had no idea that we would marry 3 years later. 2. Cyana (my 2 3/4 year old) loves to interrupt our conversations by saying, "excuse me mommy I am talking to daddy now." How can you say be quiet to that? 3. Ayslind (my 5 year old) has recently begun head-butting everyone in the stomach. She finds it incredible entertaining, while for the rest of us who are taller it often hurts. 4. I openly admit to everyone my disappointment for still living in the same place I have grown up, but I secretly am thankful for all of the family (free baby-sitting), and familiarity of everything. 5. I love living in a culdasac and hope that when we find more permanent residence we will live on one forever. 6. My favorite exercise is crunchies and the plank (in it's several forms)...

Pin the tail where?

So while we are in limbo waiting for a baby, I thought I would put on some pretty funny videos. Mostly to embarrass the neighbors a bit, but it was all very fun. Last Saturday the Sterzik's baptized their oldest and then we all went to their house for a birthday party and some visiting. Well Spencer's dad being the fun guy he is encouraged all of us to play adult pin-the-tail on the donkey. Mr. Shaw by far is the funniest. He was snoring on the couch when we arrived to the party. So when his turn came for the donkey tail, he acted quite drunk. It was all very entertaining to watch. Quite the little dance that Spencer's dad can do. Spencer tried to get Bailey to help him, but Bailey was on our side! Cyana got the idea of how to play this game. After Ayslind's attempt to confuse her, she just simply took off the blind fold and put her tail on the donkey. That is my kind of game! Last the best of all the game!

7 Years and counting

Brent and I have achieved our seven year anniversary. So to reminisce a little bit, here are seven things that we have gained. 1. We are both, finally, college graduates! 2. We own a mini van (like most LDS families). 3. We have 2 3/4 kids. 4. Great friends! 5. Great extended family! Sorry if we missed some of you, we only have so many pictures. 6. Very fun family vacations, Kauai, Hawaii once and Disneyland twice! 7. Finally we have gained weight. We have sure had a lot of fun these past seven years and we are incredible blessed. I look forward to the next seven. The best part about marriage is my wonderful sweetheart and the love that has grown. Just when I didn't think I could love him more, Heavenly Father gives me another portion. Eternity sure is exciting to look forward to!

Bigger, bigger, and bigger

Yes it has finally happened, I can no longer zip up my winter coat. The happy thing was that at our last doctor appointment my weight had not changed. Brent and I figured that is why the nurse asked us three different times if the baby was moving and everything was alright. We are fine, just in the last waiting stage. My doctor had to go and get us all excited about maybe not being induced this time by informing us at our appointment last week that we were already dilated and effaced. This week no change, we have stalled out so we are once again hoping for sometime before we are 42 weeks pregnant. I guess the longer he is attached to me, he is safe from his raving crazy sisters that go crazy when we have to stay inside all the time due to happy winter cold and storms. We will keep those of you who care, posted on the baby coming. Update on Brent's dad. He was released from the hospital on Monday, but he had to keep the oxygen. He had an appointment today and will probably ...

Our First Day of 2009

We had a fun New Year. Every year Brent's family gathers in the mountains for some sledding and fun extended family reunion time. This year my mom called me on New Year's Eve to ask if we were going sledding the next day. I said yes and she quickly asked if she could come. In a surprised voice I said yes if she wanted to. She then informed me that the night before while Ayslind was visiting they were talking about what they were going to do on New Year's day. My dad was born on New Year's, so my mom said that she would spend it with him. Ayslind said that she was going sledding and my mom animatedly told her how fun that sounded. Ayslind got a little smug and my mom asked her what the matter was. Ayslind told my mom that she couldn't go sledding. My mom asked why. Ayslind said because she is to old. So Grandma decided to prove that she was not to old to go sledding. Here is the proof. Not only did she sled, but she was happy about it also. Now here is th...
