The Shelley Family

One more week and then we head down to Cedar City! A whole week to spend at the Shakespeare festival and Zions! I was looking at my calendar and realized that after we get back, Ayslind goes back to school in only two short weeks! Where did the summer go? She will be starting first grade! I can't believe that either. Oh my little ones are growing up so fast! New update as well. Today was Bowyn's first blessed day in nursery!!!! We love the kid, but during church he becomes the worst little monster! He has the hardest time in the world staying confined in the seats next to us. Without any other kids in Sunday school or Relief Society, we were constantly taking turns chasing him in the halls. It also doesn't help that church always seems to be during nap time . Anyways, today he went to nursery. I took him in expecting to spend at least this first time with him, but when I left to go listen to Ayslind's talk, he waved and went back to the bubbles. This is a beautiful place that Brent has been saying he wants to take me for as long as we have known each other. He finally visited again with my brother and brought these beautiful pictures back. He said that the next morning they had two moose (a mating pair) came walking through camp. Brent watched them play around and got a few videos. Beautiful place, some day Brent, someday!

So the kids finally earned their trip to the Planetarium at Gateway. They were so excited. When we got their they have tons of displays and there is one part where their is a display for each of the planets. When I started walking to the Earth display, Cyana comes running over and said, "Where is Mers , mom, I want to see Mers ." She has been a bit obsessed with Mars lately, but it was fun. Unfortunately we did not get any pictures at the planetarium, I forgot we had the camera. We did walk down to the water fountain and let the kids play there. Bowyn has a fear of sprinkling water that is pretty funny so that mixed with the fact that he didn't have a plastic covering for his diaper (yes swimming rules applied at the fountains), he didn't get wet and had to be content watching from a distance.

So we did not get a lot of pictures from our 4 th of July, but here are a few. The kids were troopers for a very busy weekend. We had family get together every night. By the time the celebration on the 5 th came, the kids were beat, but they had to be to the parade route with me at 6:30 am. They got there in time to watch the balloons and cheered me by as I ran in the 5k. The parade was a disappointment, no candy, but they stayed the entire time. Later we went to the other grandma's house and had a BBQ and waited for fireworks. We were all relieved when the weekend was over and needless to say, but sick of hamburgers!

So here is the photos from our hike down by Goblin Valley. It was a beautiful hike and sooooo much fun. It was definitely hot, but it was so fun. The narrows were the best part. When we got to the second narrows it was like walking into an air conditioner . It was so fun. I would love to go back down to it again! Can't wait for the narrows in St. George!

Our second catch up is when we went to Goblin Valley for the weekend, yet again with our friends the Sterzik's (not sure their our friends after what we put them through). We headed down to the valley early Friday and they had to wait until Spencer got off work a little after 7. They had never been down south so they had no idea where to go, so somewhere around 1am we found each other and got their camp set up. We headed to Goblin Valley the next day where we played Marco Polo and had a great hike (see next post).

So I have been really bad at blogging lately. Here are a bunch of catch up. We went hiking with our friends the Sterzik's . We took them up the canyon and hiked the rim trail from the top down to Tibble Fork. It was fun, for us. Not sure the Sterzik's enjoyed it as much as we did. It ended up being a lot longer hike than we anticipated, but at least we came down on the trail this time and not in the cabins.
