The Shelley Family

So here it comes. This will probably be our biggest post yet. Hopefully I can do it justice. I can hardly believe that the summer is already at the end and the kids are back in school. I think the summer was shorter this year. It felt like all we had was the month of July and that doesn't count because it always feels like half the month is holidays! We started off our summer throwing the two oldest into swimming lessons. We decided that since we had a swim pass we needed to use it, but if I take the kids swimming alone, at least half better fend for themselves. There went June. Daily routine consisted of waking, feeding, napping, feeding, running, crying, napping, feeding, sleeping. Don't forget changing in there constantly as well. Of course we now had Ayslind home from school which was a BIG help. She loves to change diapers (for now) so she really saved me this summer. We were able to make it story time a few times. Luckily they had a big kids story time...

My baby girl is 8 weeks today. She is getting so big so fast. The older kids love her to death, but have adjusted to the baby thing. Now it is time to expand our horizons. Thank goodness for neices and nephews who are baby deprived! Lyvi is rolling from side to side and holds her head fairly steady. We have our 2 month check up in a week and a half, then we can report her rolly pollyness. She is starting to smile and is a very content happy baby. We'll keep her!

I love that she is old enough to hold her and I trust leaving her with the baby. Cyana was so excited that her baby sister finally had arrived! Bowyn is taking the big brother thing very seriously, watch out!! I love that she is so alert! Good night sleepy heads!

Well she has arrived. Lyvian Mae was born on April 8th. She weighed 8lbs 13 oz and was 20 inches long. We were induced Friday morning and she arrived around 1 pm. All in all a quick delivery with minimal issues. She is a sweet little addition to our family. The other kids seem to be adjusting well to her. Bowyn especially seems to love her, though he still is a little confused that there isn't a baby in my tummy anymore. He loves to hug her and kiss her. The girls are big helpers as they are old enough to hold her so I can get things done around the house. Ayslind can't wait to change diapers and Cyana loves to talk to her. Going from 2 kids to 3 was very hard for us, but going from 3 to 4 seems to be a lot easier. The other kids are getting older and more independent and that makes everything run a little more smoothly. Lyvian had her two week check up today and she is 9 lbs 2 oz (Ayslind's birth weight).
