January update 2018

Well, one of my goals this year is to stay a little more up to date on our family. So here we go: Brent recently had another change with work. He has had 2 callings for the past year one of them has been scouting and in March when I began work, our schedule changed such that he was required to work until 7:30 every night. For the past 6 months we have been battling with our schedule and making sure that he gets his hours. We recently went in for our temple recommend interviews and talked with our stake leaders about needing the change to happen. The bishopric has been fully aware and no changes have happened. The stake went to the bishopric and found they were prepared to release him and did so the following Sunday. The Tuesday afterward, Brent found out that his pay would be changed from salary to hourly. Now our hours really would count against us and with the change in our paychecks from 2x a month to every other week, we have been short money already. So this all happened and the...

Making of Covenants

Yesterday was a huge day in our family. Ayslind decided to become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was baptized a member by her dad. She also was confirmed a member and received the gift of the Holy Ghost by the Holy Melchizedek priesthood restored to the earth by our Savior through the Prophet Joseph Smith. How grateful I am for the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. It has become integrated into everything that defines our family. Without the gospel we would not be where we are today or as happy as we are today. How grateful I am for our agency. It was difficult to watch Ayslind struggle a little as she had to find out for herself if getting baptized was the right choice. She prayed a lot and read her scriptures. As a family we were able to finish the Book of Mormon. One morning a couple of months ago she came upstairs for breakfast and said, "Mom, I believe Heavenly Father is real and I can't wait to get baptized." I was so excited fo...

Summer 2011 continued

So for my birthday, Brent got the day off so we made a quick run to our favorite place, Zion's. We hiked to Emerald Pools with the kids, had a picnic, then sped home for a surprise visit from Brent's nephew. We ended up visiting until about 2 am. Went by quick, but was fun. For Brent's birthday we did the regular visit to Bear Lake with the pleasant surprise of the water being super close! Instead of having to hike a mile to the water, we went right down the grass past a little bit of sand into nice water and waves. The grass line with the little dot(heads of family in the water) is where we usually set up on the beach to play. I was sitting in the pavilion taking this picture! It was a ton of fun this year. On Brent's actual birthday we had family over for a little party and I made the most expensive cake I have ever made. It was yummy, but it will probably be a one timer. No he did not turn 4. I am a bit cheap when it comes to candles. I could find our 1, 2, 4, an...

Cyana's birthday

Image
So I know I am a little behind on blogging . This was Cyana's birthday back in April. Since the baby came a week before her birthday, we were pretty low profile this year. Thank goodness for family who love birthdays and threw her a surprise party at Grandma's house. For her actually birthday we gave her our presents then asked her what she wanted to do (note to self, do not ask this child spur of the moment what she wants to do. It is way to expensive!). She responded with wanting white pasta sauce from her uncle's old work. That would be Olive Garden. She kept asking when everyone was coming over for the party. I didn't have the heart to tell her there was no party, so we gave in to every wish. We ended at an indoor mini golf game. Some aunts and grandma came to the rescue with a surprise party on Sunday. A princess star wars party, just like she wanted:) She has been planning this party for well over a year. She has written several invitations to invite friends and...
