Happy 7th

Image
So Ayslind turned seven this year. As has been the story of our life recently, we are crazy busy, so in order to get her party in, we did a friend party after school, then had all the family over for dinner. It turned out to be a lot of fun. She had about 20 kids at the kids party because we invited the family and friends to that part and then had them stay for dinner afterwards. We did a homemade fat fairy pinata. Brent and Ayslind made it and Cyana and I painted it. We were really happy to see so much of our family. It was a surprise that so many were able to come. Thanks everyone for your support and love. It made Ayslind's day! Yes Ayslind's hair is cut now. She has been bugging me all summer to cut it and I couldn't do it, so I kept putting it off telling her that for her birthday we would. I now know that this is one kid you cannot trick. She remembers everything and expects you to keep your promise. So I got around it by having Grandma give that as her pr...

Independence

Image
So here are some funny pictures of Bowyn . The kids wanted to play outside and so I sent the girls out. Bowyn being a tag-a-long came and asked to go out as well. I told him he needed his jacket and shoes on before going out. A few minutes later I looked all over trying to find Bowyn , in a bit of exasperation I went out side and yelled for Bowyn , thinking he would be out without shoes. This is what I found. He was following the girls down the street wearing Ayslind's shoes. Apparently he couldn't reach his jacket or he probably would have ended up with it on as well. I love this age of independence. He has also been learning how to get dressed and undressed. One of his favorite outfits are his baseball p.j. shorts. On this day he wouldn't put them down. When I got him dressed in pants, he went back in his room and put his baseball shorts on over top . No fuss, just did what he wanted.

A week of Halloween

So the week of Halloween this year felt as big as Christmas or any of the future holidays. We dressed up nearly every day, which turned out good for Cyana because she couldn't decide on what she wanted to be. I was in charge of the PTA activity at the school so every day I was at the school before, during, and after. When that was finally over, we had class parties and then the big family party on Saturday. By the time Sunday came, I was exhausted and ready to retire from any more volunteering. (We don't have anything until Thanksgiving). Here are the pictures. We, of course, had snow like everywhere else so we dug out the winter clothes. Being where we are conveniently the next week we were back to our summer clothes. This is a conglomerate of Brent's work and Ayslind's parade at school. Brent's work had a carving/decorating competition, and of course Brent's section won. Brent painted the face on the "mad scientist." The other section in the picture...
