Well we had an eventful Christmas. Sorry no pictures. We decided that we would video tape instead. Also since I am now the size of a baby whale, we will forgo pictures, of me at least. Our Christmas was filled with lots of business as most of yours is. We the majority of the time jumping back and forth between families and trying not to end up hating them by the end. (This is mostly me since I am incredible emotional, yet again, and uncomfortable). We survived through Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Brent took the day after Christmas off, so we went sledding. No I did not sled, though I wonder if we could have encouraged a New Year baby.
Saturday was eventful also as now that Christmas Day was over I have the uncontrollable nesting instinct take over any sane thought and we rearrange our house to find a place to put a crib. For those that don't know, we live in a two bedroom four-plex. Three children in that size of a place is quite tricky, but I have several neighbors who have done so successfully, so we are attempting it, for the time being. We swapped rooms with the girls since our master bedroom was a little bigger, and it seems to have worked out, because the nesting anxiety has subsided for now. We actually have the crib up, I found some newborn boy clothes from a previous shower, and I found my stash of size1-2 diapers. At least now if the baby comes he won't be "swaddled lying in a manger because there was no room for him in the inn."

We were exhausted (me from directing and Brent from doing all the physical labor) that we were looking forward to a quiet Sunday. We had invited our four-plex neighbors over for dinner as a farewell party for the Sterzik's who would be moving on New Year's Day. They have been our neighbors for over 2 years and life preservatives at that (more information later). After a wonderful turkey and ham dinner we settled in to visit. Brent had to leave to assist in a baby blessing for his niece. He had left the house and 15 minutes later called to tell me that his dad had decided to go on his own vacation. He thought that the American Fork hospital would be a good place to feel a little better. As most of you know Brent's dad has cancer and for him to be admitted because he was coughing up blood made us all a little nervous. Brent stopped at the hospital to visit him on his way home from the blessing and did not get home until near midnight. The next morning we got a call that his dad had been moved to Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake because they are more equipped for what his dad needed. Monday evening we sent the girls to visit Great-Grandam Park and went to visit Brent's dad. If any of you have been to the University of Utah hospital lately then you know that no one in their right mind would ever wanted to be admitted there if they ever wanted to see the light of day again!!!! The majority of the hospital is under construction. It is not the different wards that are being revamped, but every main entrance you can find! So we spent 15-20 minutes wandering around hallways and construction areas trying to find our way. Luckily, before we began our journey we met up with Kayelynne and Brent's mom to journey with them. You could tell we were all struggling, when Brent ran his mom into an elevator entrance (she rides in a wheelchair) and I had to keep slowing down due to happy pregnancy pains. We eventually found Brent's dad and Margel was there already. The nursing staff were wonderful and let us stay and visit as long as we wanted. Around 10 pm we decided we better leave because the door we came through informed us that after 10 we had to enter through the E.R. who knows where or how that would have taken us back to our car. We got home around midnight. Last night we did it all over, but the driving and parking was much more convenient now that we knew where we were going. The results from the tests say that Brent's dad is suffering from pneumonia and will probably be in the hospital a few more days. They will run some more tests also to check the cancer progression (or digression!) and let him know about that as well.
Today my highly emotional self is lamenting the loss of the Sterzik's as they have decided to move a day early due to their own family traumas. The frustrating part is not being able to help because of our little bowling ball waiting to come. Hopefully the next few days will bring more relaxation and less stress as we begin yet another year. Tomorrow the sun will rise, just keep breathing, and you never know what the tide will bring. Keep your eyes on the horizon. Happy New Year!
