Christmas 2010

I know...I am really late. February of the new year is probably not the best time to post Christmas, but here it is. We found where Santa leaves his reindeer while he is visiting the malls, so we went to visit them. It was quite pleasant with the outdoor fire pit. We then went wandering through the shops where we had some warm wassail, yummy cookies, and got stocked by the Christmas carolers dressed in the old fashion outfits. The kids were so excited about it that when we had our family party, they told their cousins and we took them out to see them on another night. It was a lot of fun and I am hoping a new tradition at our house. We survived all the family parties and visiting and cookie making and rush, but it just didn't feel like Christmas until we stopped and visited Temple Square. Sadly it was Christmas Eve when we finally made it up there. It was freezing cold, but the kids loved the nativities and walking around the visitors center. We also were lucky enough to make it into the last showing of "Mr. Kroger's Christmas." Then we made it home in time to invade on our family's generosity one more time for Christmas Eve dinner. It turned out nice and by the time we got home the kids were ready for bed (as was mom and dad)!
Christmas morning dawned bright, but not to early, when A got up and went back to bed. We had to holler at her to see if Santa had come. She went and looked and headed back to bed at 8 in the morning. After a little coaxing the other 2 got up as well. B was totally confused by the sudden arrival of presents, but enjoyed ripping and playing as much as the girls. We had a pleasant Christmas morning then headed off once again to family to break the news about our new addition. It didn't start out as a fun Christmas, but once Christmas morning came it was a huge relief and we could relax and enjoy the holiday! I do have to say, I am glad it is over!

 2025 has been a year of anticipation. On alert for what would be happening or not happening in the future. I love the phrase "anticipation for good things to come." This season is a season of "anticipation of good things." We hope more, we try more, we focus on faith more as we anticipate this holiday season. There is a lot to look forward to. The concerts, finals week, the end of term, time off work, the beginning of a new year, Christmas celebrations, Christmas Eve, then Christmas morning, time with family, friends and loved ones, memories.  This year has been a year of good things that have come.  Brent has been so blessed with a job a Nelson Labs for 19+ years. He continues to excel at his role as a consulting study director. He had a lot of time off this year with our family. We traveled with him to California, St. George, Lava and star gazing chasing. 2024 review

 Dear Friends and Family,  2024 has been a year of change and growth for our family.  Brent continues to work at Nelson laboratories. His position has shifted. He is now a consulting study director for Chemistry. He has also been tackling the project of transforming the unfinished basement into a 2 bedroom apartment. He loves to be outside with the kids and in the yard. A knee injury has been keeping him from time in the mountains, but he is hoping that his careful care of it will help him heal and he will have more time there next year. He has been serving as the Sunday School President for the ward and was just released in December. On to new adventures! Katie continues to work for Alpine School District as a school counselor. She has been working at the Elementary level and loves the little kiddos. In late January she was offered a part time position as an ACHMC therapist for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Family Services. She has been balancing the 2...

2019 review

You know the good thing about this blog is at least once a year I get on and update, haha! This has been a CrAZY year. We decided in November of last year it was time to move from our home of 9+ years. Three months later we were gone and it was a bit like ripping a bandaid off a wound. Our feelings were (to be honest still are) very raw leaving the comforts, friends, and familiarity of our community to a different one. Having children craziness and our own craziness has made it difficult to adjust and make friends. I just want people to understand that after we settle down (do we ever) I can be a normal person that is friendly. Anyway here is the review in a nutshell: Brent is still at Nelson Labs and doing awesome! He has so far survived the company sell out and enjoys meeting and talking with people all over the world.
