LittleBowyn is 2!
I can't believe that my baby boy is 2! The Wednesday before his bday I found out about free zoo day, so we headed up to see how the animals were fairing. Bowyn was so excited to see the cats. He has been practicing his roaring for months now and couldn't stop once he saw all of them. Of course most of the cats at the zoo are more winter acclimated, so they were much more active and visible then at other times of the year. This, of course, added to the excitement as they were very close up. Bowyn kept trying to touch them saying, "mommy, soft?" His other favorite was the giraffes. When we walked in the other kids ran and climbed up on the rail because the animals were close up and eating. Bowyn, being smaller, laid down on his tummy and tried to fit his head through the railing underneath, reaching his had out saying,"here raff, cumher raff." When he realized that his head would not fit, he ran to me and had me hold him up and reached his hand out trying to pet the giraffe. He was very excited! Thanks to my sister and her little boy who came to help keep up with all the kids. It was a fun day!
Bowyn's bday was exciting for everyone. He wasn't sure what to make of everything. He kept saying that Santa had brought him his presents, but once the opening happened all was forgotten and I think he got a bit overwhelmed with everything, but he was happy and fun to watch. We actually videoed everything, but I couldn't get them to upload, maybe another time. He did blow his candle right out, he knew just what to do. No his wheels on the truck really are cake, even though they look like donuts with sprinkles! Blueberry sat on his shoulder for the first time as well and I think it was a good bonding moment for the two of them. Happy Birthday (late) to my little guy. We got him moved over into his toddler bed on his bday as well. The first couple of nights and naps were rough, but I think he is adjusting well. We left the crib up because in about 9 weeks it will be filled, yet again. They grow so fast!
