Summer Blues

So this has been a crazy summer for us. We kicked it off with girls camp, then 4th of July, then youth conference, then a family trip to Disney and now we stand two Saturday's from school starting again. Where does the time go. I wish I could say that was all in June and now I had the rest of the summer before me, but not so. Here is a quick catch up on our yard project. So we put our new fence in this past February/March. This summer has been wonderful with it! We will never even consider another house unless it has a fenced in backyard. I know we are learning.  Once the fence was put in we added 30 tons of dirt and manure to improve our garden spot. It has been all worth it. Our garden is doing amazing. We are just getting into bottling mania. Hopefully by this fall we will have the farie flower garden area all put together with the pond installed and running. We love yard work!

 This is our acorn squash on the north side. We have never had success at acorn squash, but this year we have 4 about the size of youth basketballs growing. Everything is huge!

 Those are not weeds in the middle, Brent works pretty hard to keep it as weed free as possible, those are the peas that have died, we pulled them out later this day of the picture.

 That is our plum tree that is being overgrown by the pumpkins. They pumpkins keep trying to grow up the tree. Where Brent is standing, Cyana planted her own little garden. She was so excited when she got her first vegtables (peas) off of it.

As I mentioned earlier we just got back from our family vacation for this year. Finally we weren't pregnant and no one died this summer, so we went to Disneyland. It was all that we remembered it being before only 4 times the fun because the kids have always been little so it was like taking the older ones for their first time again. Ayslind rode the big rides with us (at least once than said she never wanted to do anything like it again), Cyana rode Star Tours over and over and over, she also got to do the Jedi training and fight Darth Vadar, Bowyn met Mickey and raced Lightening Mcqueen, and Lyvi was pleasant and happy just to sit and watched everyone be crazy. We had fun, but as with all big vacations, we need a vacation from our vacation, so on the way home, we stayed in St. George at the best family hotel ever, swam, order pizza, watched a movie, then slept in the next morning. Right back into it now, school shopping, house organinzing, and holiday preparations, I think the older I get the less time I have in a day. How does this happen?

On our way Brent, Joe, and I stopped and saw the Green Show in Cedar City. Then off to Les Misrebles, wonderful job!

Finally Disneyland

 Joe's first time on Splash Mountain, yep his eyes are hidden behind his glasses. No he did not scream, but he hid his tightly sqeezed shut eyes so no one would know just how scared he was!

Pirate island and meeting Rapanzel. Her line was FOREVER long, then we learned that she was really playing up the part telling stories about her and Flynn all through the park to each little group. She should get out of her tower more!

 We got lucky and ran into Ariel and Sleeping Beauty as we walked in on the first day. No line and no waiting around at the Princess Fair for hours.

  

 Cyana was privilaged to become a jedi padawan learner. She got to light saber fight Darth Vadar and use the force on the storm troopers. Some good 5 minute Jedi training!

These two went crazy in the bear cove. They have added some things from up along with all the brother Bear stuff. Lyvi couldn't take just standing and tapping the water, she had to sit in it!

 Tea cups of course! I was the only one who would ride them with the kids, everyone else claimed motion sickness.

Grizzly Bear rapids was a must. After using our fast passes, the adults found the single rider line was faster and just as fun. Brent, Mistie, Joe, and I had a blast going ahead of the hour wait line!

Character encounters!

 Mickey was Bowyn's "favorite ride." He was so excited to meet Mickey, when we went in his room, he ran right up to him, hugged him and told him he waited his whole life to meet him. So dang cute I wish I had recorded it!

Cars land was by far the most popular place to be. It was incredible they way they remade Radiator Springs, it was just like being in the movie. Flo's cafe was really good eats, and the ride was worth the 45 minute wait to hear Bowyn's reaction as we raced Lightening Mcqueen! This in and of itself made everything worth it! Mom and Dad waited with Lyvi and we grabbed a stroller pass, so when we finished they got to go right on, no wait.

Yes we actually got to watch them drive up and they talked to us, really fun. Bowyn wanted to ride in Lightening and of course that wasn't allowed.

 Tinker Bell and Vidia. She scowled like that the whole time except for once, she smiled, but we think it was an oops.

Right when we got there the first day, the lines were short on all the kid rides so we seperated and the adults got in a line for each ride. We actually all got to ride on Dumbo, rare! Okay except Dad, but he wanted to take the pictures.

 We can never fit all the pictures in one journaling, but sufficet to say we also hit pirates (Ayslind's favorite), Indiana Jones and even the Jungle Cruse opened again on our last day, so for the first time that we had been to Disneyland, all the rides were open! Fun trip! It has only taken a week for the kids to start asking when we are going back. Bowyn just said this morning, "Mom, I think I want to go back to Disneyland next week." Me "Oh really, why is that?" "Cause I want to play some more games!" I am so thankful that we were able to take our kids. They are at the prime age for all the fun little kids dream to do! Disney really is a place where all your dreams come true!
